The Orion runtime menu system provides a familiar, easy to use interface while reducing screen “clutter” by eliminating extra buttons required for navigation. Each series of interface screens will have their own series of menus specifically focused on the tasks for the specific screen.
Shown below at the "top" level menu when Orion runtime first loads.

Setup: Control Setup
Faceplate Options: Set various faceplate options for loop views.
Setpoint Limits: Set upper/lower limits for setpoint adjust for each loop.
Controller Tuning: Adjust tuning values for each loop - click here for PID Tuning
Alarm Setpoints: Adjust alarm setpoints for each loop.
Digital Alarm Delays: Adjust delay settings for contact closures inputs when alarm manager is used.
Push Button Delays: Adjust delay settings for push button outputs when alarm manager is used.
Touch Calibration: Touch screen calibration.
Set Date/Time: Set system date and time.
Faceplate options allow the user to customize the loop view screens of Orion. AutoScroll forces the loop displays to scroll automatically through all loops every 4 seconds. When AutoScroll is enabled, setpoints can not be changed from the loop view screens. The user can select which variable to display on the faceplates by selecting PV, SP or %Out from the checkbox selection on the screen.
If Orion is plugged into an Ethernet connection (Orion ships configured for "DHCP"), the IP address of the unit will be displayed. DHCP means "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol". This is a term used when a device (Orion) is hooked to an Ethernet connection and the main system (router) automatically assigns the IP address when the device (Orion) is powered up. The "Web Server Enabled" checkbox turns on or off the Orion unit from serving web pages that are accessible via a local Intranet or World Wide Web.

To connect to Orion using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer:
After Orion is connected to an Ethernet connection and the IP address is assigned by the system, write down the IP address shown on the above screen. Start Internet Explorer from any PC on the local network.
In the “Address” toolbar of Internet Explorer type: http://192.168.1.105/Orion.html (use actual IP address shown on your Orion screen). The following page will be displayed and updated every 30 seconds automatically with new data from the Orion system. Loop, alarm, totals and digital inputs status (if using FDC digital alarm manager) data is provided for “view only” access.

Setpoint limits for all loops are adjustable by pressing the limit fields and entering a new value. Make sure the limits set at the Orion interface do not exceed the limits programmed directly at the controller level. An error will occur if this condition exists, and the user writes an “out of range” setpoint value to a controller attached to the Orion link. Press the “Set Limits” button after low/hi limits for all loops are set. It is important to press the “Set Limits” button to write the values to memory for power-up operation.

New settings will not take effect until the “Set Limits” button is pressed
Alarm setpoint values for DIN controls Alarm 1 and 2 can be set from the Orion interface. These alarms are programmed directly at the controller for hi-low/deviation operation. If the alarm is programmed at the controller for hi-low operation, adjust the AL#1 and Al#2 setpoint fields. If the alarm is programmed at the controller for deviation operation, adjust the AL#1 and AL#2 deviation setpoint fields. The setpoint limits for the alarm fields track the same values that were set for the setpoint fields under the “Limits\Units” section of the Orion interface. If an alarm is not available for a specific type of controller, it will not be accessible from the Orion screen.

Digital Alarm Manager - Alarm Delays
The digital alarm delays screens allows an operator (with proper security level) to adjust the delay in seconds for each contact closure in the digital alarm manager. With the dynamic display of alarm only in use as well as the combination of 110VAC and 24VDC inputs, the alarm digital alarm manager is flexible enough to handle almost any digital alarming application. The “Master On” sync delay (I1) on main CPU is also adjustable from this screen.

For more information on Digital Alarm Manager
Digital Alarm Manager - Push Button Delays
The Push Button delays screens allows an operator (with proper security level) to adjust the delay off time in seconds for each push button configured in the system. Select the push button number and then enter a delay off time for the selected pushbutton. If the digital alarm manager is not connected, this screen will not be accessible.
Orion provides the ability to calibrate the touch screen directly from the Orion interface.

Press the “Calibrate Touch” button. A “System Settings” dialog will appear with several tabs on the Windows dialog box. Press the “Calibrate” button on the first tab. Follow the onscreen instruction to calibrate the touch screen by holding a stylus or finger on the crosshair, until the cross hair moves to the new position. After all positions have been cycled, the directions on the screen will display the following: “New calibration settings have been measured. Press enter key to accept the new settings”. Press the screen to finalize the calibration.
There are other tabs on the “System Settings” dialog. Pressing the right arrow will scroll through the tabs. The tabs are as follows:
“LCD Settings” Allows the user the turn off the backlight after a predetermined number of minutes. This acts as a screen saver and will prolong the display life of Orion (40,000 hours under normal conditions).
“MAC Address” Do not make changes or modify this tab.
“Save” Since Orion is an embedded device (no hard disk or moving parts), changes to touch screen calibration and LCD settings need to be saved to the Windows registry. Press the “Save Registry” button under the “Save” tab after touch screen and LCD setting have been made.
“System Version” Displays the current system version.
“Set Serial Port” Do not make changes or modify this tab. Changes to this tab will stop Orion from communicating to controllers on the Orion link.
“Home Directory Change” Do not make changes or modify this tab.
“Contrast” The user can use the sliding bar to make adjustment s to the contrast of the display.
The set date/time screen provides the user the ability to set the system date and time. System time is set in a 24-hour format. Press each field to set the parameters for date and time. When all entries are made press the “Set Time” button to enter the new values into memory and set the internal “CE” clock.

The Exit Orion screen allows the user to quit the Orion runtime software and return to the CE.Net operating system. This operation is not recommend with the exception of users who are in charge of configuration of the system, due to the danger of editing or removing files by accident. Since Orion can auto-start either the runtime or configuration system on power-up, make the appropriate choice and Orion will exit to the CE.Net operating system. On the next power-up, Orion will boot the selected configuration.

For additional information on Orion Configuration where this Exit Application can be disabled ["grayed out"] and/or Orion Security where a password to access this Exit see the following: Orion Configuration and/or Orion Security.
